News From Stamplistic....Store Closing

There are many of you who
will read this right now that we truly wish we could have called directly. We
have some pretty special customers - you do know who you are - and we apologize
that we are doing this in this manner, but there is no other easy way. After 15+
years, Stamplistic will be closing their doors. We will still be around in many
different ways, which I will explain below, just not in the way we currently
operate.

We can no longer operate as
a storefront. Call it the economy, competition, big chains, "online", business
is just not there to warrant a storefront. As you may or may not know, this
business as a whole has been struggling across the county for some time. In
fact, I have been working a full time job, in addition to owning and working the
store, so that it could stay open. Sadly, not only have I never taken a single
dime of profit from the store, but it can no longer retain itself and run the
way it is structured. (And for the record, moving the store 1 ½ years ago was a
great move for 2 reasons. We moved to a much bigger space, and paid a lot less
from what we were paying in the previous space. The move has nothing to do with
us closing now. We got a bigger space and saved money in the
meantime.)

Beginning tomorrow,
Tuesday, December 27th, we will be liquidating everything in the store,
including fixtures, shelving, furniture, etc. etc. Everything (excluding
adhesives, jewels, Stamplistic page kits, Copic markers and Copic products) will
be 30% off. (Discount will be taken off at the register.) We will
officially close our doors Sunday, January 22nd, 5 weeks from now. We will be
continuing to move items to the showroom floor so it might be a good idea to
come in to shop a few times within the next 5 weeks. I can tell you that we are
not planning on going lower than 40% off, and are unsure right now if and when
we will even go to 40% off.

At this point, we can only
accept cash and credit/debit cards. (Cash only on fixtures, shelving, furniture,
etc. that total $100 or less. We will accept credit/debit cards on fixtures,
shelving, furniture, etc. that total more than $100.)
Also, we can no longer
accept incentive cards, which includes incentive cards that are full. Because we
are now in this position of liquidation, we just no longer can accept them
during this time.

Gift certificates. We of
course will honor all gift certificates. In fact, we will special order items
for you with your gift certificate if that is what you choose. (Obviously
not at 30% off.) You can use your gift certificates for product in store
currently liquated, upcoming classes and events. However from this day forward,
we will not be selling any more gift certificates.

We will open tomorrow,
Tuesday, and keep our normal hours until the final day. However, New Years' Eve
we will close at 3:00pm (10:00am-3:00pm) and open on New Year's Day, noon-4:00pm
. Regular hours are as follows:
Monday, Wednesday and
Friday 10:00am-5:00pm
Tuesday and Thursday
10:00am-9:00pm
Saturday
10:00am-5:00pm
Sunday
12:00pm-4:00pm

We will have our final
stamp chat on Saturday, January 7th with Anthony/10:30am
The final crop in our
current store will also be Saturday, January 7th from 3:00pm-midnight. (PLEASE
REGISTER FOR THIS CROP!) Cost, $15.00
We will continue our weekly
emails. (However, that will resume in February.)

Within the
next 2 weeks you'll be hearing from us again to give you more specifics on what
'Stamplistic' will look like. In the meantime, I can tell you this. We will do
rubber stamping/scrapbooking shows; we will have a heavy presence online with a
new, and very much improved website that will carry stamp lines, inks, reinkers,
paper, etc. etc.; we will have demo's and instruction online; catalog sales
online; we will still have a few classes which will include as assortment from
Mara and Grunge Friday for sure; we will still have crop Saturdays (but at a
different location); we will continue to do Spring Bling and Croptoberfest; we
will continue to offer the Page of the Month Kits that come out on the 5th and
15th of every month (this will resume in February); and we have every reason to
believe, we will hold our annual garage sale. As I said in the beginning of this
letter, we are not truly saying goodbye, just changing the way we currently do
business.

Come on in now - or at
least in the next 5 weeks - for closeouts on practically everything! For those
of you who have stamp/craft areas or ROOMS... now is the time to come get a
fixture to make your craft room even more 'user friendly'.

We will be holding a silent
auction for the 'Tim Holtz' signature piece of wall with his mirror that he
made. If you would like to own a piece of history, we simply need your name,
phone number, and the amount you will pay for the signature piece and mirror.
The person with the highest bid will win both pieces. (Winner will be announced
on Sunday, January 15th so get your bid in soon!)

Hi, I just released 2 new stamps, The Christmas Stockings and The Wreath for all Seasons.

They were premiered at Stampaway in Cincinnati, Oh this past weekend and WOWIE, did they sell!!!! 35 Stockings and 61 Wreaths.

I am on the road again this week to Beautiful Impressions in Westport Ct 8/18 and 8/19.

Today is a perfect summer day in Ohio..it's sunny, breezy and 71 degrees.
Now all thoughts should be on sun bathing, swimming, lady lunches and so on.. of course I am working on cards for Winter! and new winter stamps, hopefully they will be ready in August..in time for Stampaway.
Speaking of Stampaway, I will be teaching a darling little book done in black and white, with a splash of bright yellow. Hope to see lots of you there!!
In July, I will be at the Stampscraparttour show in Monroeville, Pa (outside Pittsburgh), that's July 9th and 10th. It's a very nice show!

Time to get my suitcase packed and get ready to go! This March I will be in Westport Ct., at Beautiful Impressions. I will teach 3 classes on March 24 th and 25th. Please check out their website for more details.
I will then travel to Boston for the Collins Group Wholesale Show. I will be teaching and participating in th Make and Take frenzy on Saturday Night. Sunday will be show time and orders will be taken. Monday I travel back home and my 2 Granddaaughters from Washington State will be here to greet me....life doesn't get better than this!!

I want to thank everyone for their birthday wishes...my facebook page was full.

I had the bestest party last night, one of my bff's gathered 5 of us together at The 254 Diner in Sheffield Village for dinner and laughs and presents!! Mike the owner made stuff pepper soup, a favorite of mine, and a fabulous dessert of baked pears ( cause we are all dieting). I got a certificate to get my nails done, great hand and body creams, a bokay of flowers and festaware amathyst bowl for my soup and other gifts that I don't think I can mention.....

Thank you Sue,Mindy Pat and FeFe for a great party.....NOW I am official OLD!!

WOW 2011 is moving quickly!
Just finished our 9th year of hosting WINTERFEST. A winter stamping and scrapbooking weekend held at the Oberlin Inn, in Oberlin Ohio.
Our dates for next year are Jan20-22, 2012. More info will be on my website. Next year will be our 10th anniversary, and we hope to have lots of great classes, prizes, and special guest.

Christmas is right around the corner, The shopping is done, still need to wrap the gifts.
My son and grandson are going to bake a cake on Friday for Jesus' Birthday. I think that is the sweetest thing.
Austin ( age 4 ) is really going to enjoy this Christmas, he's old enough to understand what it is all about. We took him to see Santa and the scrapbook page is adorable, if I can figure out how to post it I will.
Starting to get classes ready for next year, for conventions and my traveling teaching classes.
Lots of fun stuff in the making.....keep watching.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving...I did, spent it with family and old friends.
One holiday over and getting ready for the next one!!
I leave for a visit with my daughter and son-in-law and of course my 2 beautiful granddaughters.

Anyway that's how I feel!!! Been a very busy fall already.
Was at a "home" shop in Toledo...Baas Jct Rubber Stamps, did a 2 hour demo and had lots of fun.
Sherri (the lovely owner) has So much packed into her place, it is unbelievable!! Call for hours and directions..419-385-7390.
Also was lucky enough to have a booth at the Fall Adventures in Stamping..what a great turnout!! I have converted over my entire line to cling mounted rubber stamps. This was the first show with them and they were a big hit..checkout my NEW online catalog at StacyStamps.com.
Also make his debut was Eric J. Dull ( StacyStamps designer) with his new line of stamps from Broken Road Studios. As soon as his website is complete and his catalog is ready I will post that info!!! He was packing them in the booth like crazy!
Went to visit a great shop in New Concord, Ohio...Christy's Main Street Memories, Scrapbooking and More.....Now I know I said Sherri had a great assortment in her little place.....this shop is fabulous, every nook and cranny, even the window sills have shelves built on them to display merchandise. The LARGEST selection of cuttlebug embossing envelopes EVER!

I also wanted to share with you a fabulous card that Ginny made for my shop. (I am so blessed to have her on my Design Team.)

Ginny used Stacy's Pumpkin Patch stamp as well as the Spellbinders Scalloped border set. She colored the pumpkins with Copics. And of course it looks sooo much better in real life, but this should give you some inspiration for your Thanksgiving Day projects.

On the 9th of September, I will be traveling again!
This time I am lucky enough to be visiting 4 GREAT stores.

I will be at Stamp and Scrap Nest, in Simsbury CT on Friday.
I will be at The Creative Corner, in Wurtsboro NY on Saturday.
I will be at The Great American Stamp Store, in Westport CT on Sunday.
I will be at HOME, in Sheffield Village OH on Monday...SLEEPING!!
And things don't stop there....off again the end of the month to Orlando, FL., for a trade show with the Collins Group.

I am so excited to being able to see all of you in Cincinnati.
I have friends from the West Coast, Michigan, Pa, In and more that have said they will be by to visit. We will have some great things at the booth in addition to our wonderful stamps. we will have cream chalks, containers of discontinued rubber(for really cheap), envelopes and card stock packages in cream and white from KaiserKraft and more including Larry from my design team will be duo demoing with me!

I have the pleasure of teaching a class on Friday and doing a presentation at the convention center on Saturday from 12:30-1:00. At our booth, I will be introducing our newest stamp..Floral Minis. Just got back from a fun convention in Pittsbugh. Got to love the gang that runs the Stamp Scrap Art Tour. They are the nicest people. And as for you PA people you are really cool too!I had 12 ladies in my Friday class of Black, White and Red all over. We had a great time.
The Friday Night Make and Take (over 65 attendees) used my new Poppy stamp and Pebbles Metallic Cream Chalks....BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Next trip was to be to Sharon's Crop Studio in Indiana, but it had to be rescheduled to November 12-13th. Keep an eye out for more info.
Bestest news is I will be at CHA with my store..Stamplistic and I'll be demoing at the retail show.

Great news, my class at Stampaway in Cincinnati on August 13 has SOLD OUT!!
Better news, Connie has moved my class to a larger room and is checking with those on the wait list....so if you are interested check with Connie and see if you can join us.
We are doing 5 cards, the theme is "Elegant yet simple Holiday Cards".
We are also introducing our "NEWEST" set of florals at the show....See them in Cincy first.

Ugh! a rainy,rainy day and I am Going to be driving...oh well I will take my time, listen to the radio and think of all fun I will have in Corning, N.Y. at 'The Crafting Cottage' at 38 E. Market Street. On Thursday June 10Th at 6:15 we will be doing a class with Pebbles Metallic Cream Chalks. We will use the NEWEST Blue Eyed Babies and the Poppy. Stop by and visit if you can.
This is a lovely shop, right downtown and it has a large variety of crafting supplies.

They were simply colored with colored pencils or the cream metallic chalks.

Stacy always does such a great job; always simple. yet very dramatic.

These would make great cards for the men in our lives... just in time for Father's Day!

Hi,
This really Stacy,actually blogging!!
Life has been crazy..crazy good! This past couple of weeks we have been preparing to move the shop I work in..STAMPLISTIC. So Sunday 5/23 was the BIG DAY. With a group of FRIENDS OF STAMPLISTIC (volunteers) we packed it up, moved tons of stuff to the new location(just across the parking lot.), to our new DIGS at 1957 Copper Foster Rd. Monday, the movers came for the heavy stuff and Tuesday and Wednesday we reset the store..opened at 10:00am Thursday 5/27. It looks FABULOUS!!!
I want to thank everyone that helped with the move..you are all wonderful.
So please stop by soon and check it out.

Next thing to talk about is MICHIGAN!!! I LOVE YOU!!! I was there for the StampScrapArtTour convention in Southfield on May 14,15 and 16. Had a great show and was so glad to see all of you. On Monday, I taught 3 classes at My Craft Room in Troy..loaded with 30 students. We had a great time and they made beautiful projects.

I will be listing my travels on the website (I promise to get that updated SOON) hopefully we can get together and PLAY.

WHAT HAPPENED TO JANUARY????
Can't beleive it is February already! I think that old saying about time going faster the older you get is so-o-o-o true.
I'll be heading to North Webster, In in 2 weeks for a stamping and scrapbooking retreat at Camp Crosley YMCA. A beautiful facility on a lake with a fabulous lodge with tons of room to spread out all your stuff and work away. The cabins are warm and cozy. And the FOOD is to die for!!! Check them out!
I will be showing off my newest stamps..The poppy triangle and the single poppy.
These will be on cling foam and be sold as a set. They are so new I don't have a picture to put up yet...but will soon.
Starting to set up the 2010 calender for travel..will keep you posted. Hope some of you can join me.

I will be "politically incorrect" and wish you all A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
May the new year find us all well and happy and maybe even with a few bucks in our pockets(to buy stamps with of course!!)
I am happy to say that I just had a layout published in CardMaker magazine.
The title is "Hearts Abound", theme of course is centered on love and Valentines Day.
Also starting to book my trips for 2010.
So far Indiana in Feb.,Boston in March,New York in June,Ohio(Stampaway) in Aug. and more to come. Check out my website for updates(if I can get them to the web guy in a timely fashion.

But the Spring,Summer and now Fall has gotten away from me.
I've been traveling all over the place..Ky,NY,MI,PA,NJ,CT,IN,NC and more.
I am home now till January when it will be time for Winterfest!
A great event that Mindy Naylor and I host at the Oberlin Inn in Oberlin, OH.
3 days and 2 nights of classes,stamping,scrapping and oh yes shopping at Stamplistic!
We also eat, drink and we are VERY merry!
I will have more up soon about this fun weekend..keep in mind the dates are Jan.23-25 2010.

ON THE ROAD.....AGAIN

I can't believe it's April. I have been so busy with STUFF.
I had the best week!! I left for North Carolina on Monday, April 13th. Drove from Cleveland,Oh to Knoxville, TN. Next morning had a lovely breakfast and got ready to finish my trip to Murphy, N.C. As I got in my car and checked my portable GPS it said 3hours to go 113 miles.
I thought for sure that was incorrect..haha the joke was on me! It took even longer on Rte129,
talk about a snake road over several mountains. Getting up to 25 miles per hour was SPEEDING!!!
Finally got to BEAR PAGES-Paper Crafts in Murphy N.C. and I must say it was definately worth the trip. The owners of the shop,Weldon and Nancy, opened their home for me to stay in and provided me with great food, good conversation and 6 FULL! classes. I have to say that Y'ALL
were wonderful. We laughed, told stories, got to know each other, oh yes, and we even managed to stamp and color. Weldon almost sold out of the twinkling H2O's he got and of course they bought bunches of StacyStamps...YEAH!!
We had classes on Tues. night, 3 on Weds and 2 on Thurs.
I got up Friday morning and started east to Boiling Springs, N.C. to DOROTHY'S STAMPS-N-SCRAPS. The owners are Mary Ruth and Keith(Keith is a pastor, so I had to behave!!)
You want to talk about delightful people..these are the best! On my way to their shop I made a little detour to a Cheeroke Casino...(they were not nice to me!!financially that is!). When I got to Dorothy's(named after Mary Ruth's Momma), we had our first class around 6:30P.M.
Mary Ruth bakes this wonderful sourdough bread and brings it to the shop and sells it to customer..OMG is it delicious!(2 loaves found their way into my car). On Saturday we had 2 more classes and had the best time with some real southern ladies..actually we even had another Yankee there other than me. We used COPIC Markers and did a colored pencils class too!
I laughed so hard at Sarah Ann's jokes...wish I could remember them all!
I started home Staurday evening and got home on Sunday afternoon...And took a NAP!
I hope to make the trip again in the fall. The drive this spring was lovely and the people I met fantastic..I look forward to another visit.

Camp Crosley Art Retreat

One of the things I looked forward to this February was the Art Retreat at Camp Crosley YMCA,
in North Webster, IN.
This event is sponsored by Jan from Stamp-N-Toys(N. Webster,IN) and Renee' from the camp.
We had 40 people attend and we had the best time. #1 the food is the best ever!!! Renee and her staff are top notch. The classes were fun and the projects the girls were working on were SUPER.
We had a shopping trip to Jan's shop and of course found lots of goodies! Check out her website.

We slept in the cabins and even though we were on the lake, in the woods ,on Friday the 13th, we all escapes with all our body parts in tack.

Oh! I am so glad the hustle and bustle of the holidays are over. Of course, I'm not too excited about the bills!
I've been busy with getting NEW stamps released(see What's New on my website.. http://www.stacystamps.com/.
We had our largest Winterfest ever, 42 attended the winter stamp and scrapbook retreat sponsored by Stacy Rich (me) and Mindy Naylor(BFF), at the Oberlin in Oberlin, OH.
We had 12 classes,visiting teachers from NY, MI and OR.,plus our great teachers from Stamplistic.
This past weekend I was in Troy MI., at MY CRAFT ROOM, a lovely store that has tons of stuff for all crafters. If you stamp. scrap, knit, or bead this is the place to be!!!!
We had 2 classes and a make-n-take session. It was fun. Oh yes, and we sold lots of StacyStamps!
This Friday I head to Washington State to visit my daughter,Kimberly and her family.
I do plan a side trip to Portland, Or to visit Agi Werner, the owner and designer of the fabulous Paper Parachute line of stamps and papers.I'll also be visiting Cyn-sational Memories in Aberdeen, Wa.
I hope you have started your Valentines..it's around the corner.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.Now it is time to buckle down and get those Holiday cards made. I spent the last couple of hours making tags for our tag exchange at Stamplistic and even managed to make a dozen Christmas cards.
New stamps coming before the end of the year! I will post them if I can figure it out..

Home Again...
Just got back from my daughters in Hoquiam Washington. Had a great week...we did lots of fun stuff including making 50 breast cancer ribbon cards for Dr. Lloyd at Gray's Harbor Hospital. My daughter, Kimberly is very active in the Breast Cancer Alliance of Gray's Harbor.
Also my grandaughter, Cassie and I did start and finish scrapping her freshman year of High School. Marching Band, Youth and Government, Jazz Band, Home Coming, a Prom and more.
I stopped at a great stamping and scrapping store in Aberdeen, Washington...
Cyn-Sational Memories. Cyndi is delightful and has a shop filled with great stamps and beautiful papers. If you are out toward the Pacific Ocean, do stop in!
Off again this week to Papertrix in Nashville,In..Make and takes and classes, another great little treasure of a shop.

I'm Back

I have been a BAD blogger and I apologize.
As they say LIFE HAPPENS!! and it has been too!
First of all on a sad note..my ex-husband Frank has passed away from brain cancer.
It was thank goodness for him only a 5 month battle. His wonderful sister,Jane, cared for him with the help of HOSPICE. I visited often and hopefully brought him some pleasure. We talked about the old times, the grandchildren and resolved our own personal issues.
May God bless him.
Now for everything else...Tim Holtz was at Stamplistic and WOW!! what a great guy.
He's funny and inspiring and encouraging..everyone LOVED him. His set up partner, Mario, was also a HOOT. I can't tell you what a great teaching team they make.
If you ever get a chance to take a class from "the Man", do so!
I have been traveling and teaching also..just returned from New York. Two days at The Crafting Cottage in Corning and 2 days at Dragonfly Rubber Stamps & Gifts in Adams.
Great people,fun classes and they feed me well too!
I leave again Thursday to visit my daughter Kimberly's family in Hoquiam, WA.
Then I will go to Nashville, In. Papertrix, for 2 days(see my website for more info).
WHEN TIM WAS VISITING HE SAID THAT IF YOU HAVE A BLOG, YOU MUST BE COMMITED TO IT. So I will give it my best shot!

Colored Pencils..so many choices

Dear Rose Ann,
Thanks for the info on the Faber-Castell pencils. I did discover another pencil while at the Monroeville,Pa convention. The booth from Art Tech Supplies in Greensburg,Pa had them,they are KOH-I-NOOR Woodless Colour Pencils. I like them alot and the price point is very affordable. I'm hoping to have them for demo and sale at Stampaway Convention August 9th in Cincinnati.

So hard to believe it is already July---wow but the older I get the faster the time goes.

Demo, Demo, Demo!

What a fantastic day we had at Angela's Happy Stamper in Reston, VA. I spent the entire day at her store with the most fabulous group of women you can find anywhere. My demo started at noon and went until 2....well or a quarter to 3 because someone...it could have been me....did a little chatting. I demoed 9 projects including boxes, shaker cards, clever cover holders and beautifully painted flowers with Twinkling H2Os. In the evening, from 6 - 8, we had a new group of ladies in, and we did it all over again. I answered questions and gave hints and told them of all the whoopsies that I have made in stamping, and we all had a good laugh. At the end of the demo, but the day and evening, we had all of the attendees put their names in a hat, and we drew out names and I gave all the demo cards away. This way people had a chance to take home some of the things they had seen made.

I didn't get a chance to meet all of Angela's staff, but the gals that I met were fabulous and oh so talented. If you get a chance to take a class, do so! You will really enjoy it!

I brought a trunk show to Angela's (which means that I brought a whole bunch of stamps for people to choose from) and boy oh boy oh boy did they shop...bless your hearts! They all asked if I could come back another time, and I told them I would beg Angela to have me back again. I think it might work. So, if I do get the chance to come back again, I hope those of you who couldn't make it will visit with me then.

Wildflower Card

The Wildflower set #341T (new this year) is a unique set that can be used for cards for men and/or women. The cattails are masculine where the Queen Anne's Lace is very feminine. Of course the cornflower can be used for either. In the sample card, we have embossed the 3 flowers on decorative scrapbooking paper with clear ink and red embossing powder -- a combination you may not have thought would look great with these flowers, but it DOES! We then stamped the "thinking of you (411B) again with the clear ink and green powder on vellum, added brads and layered. Quick, easy and WOW!

Oh Boy--Oh Boy--Oh Boy!

I'm so excited to be able to talk to all of you! This is my first experience with a blog and hopefully I will actually know what I'm doing when my instructor is not with me.

I would like to use this as a way of letting you know all of the fun stuff that happens to Stacy--with her travels, her teaching and just life in general.

I'm here in Virginia with Angela from Angela's Happy Stamper in Reston and I've come to do some demos for her and her charming little shop tomorrow. So as we are here having dinner in her home with her husband and her two lovely boys, she was telling me about her blog and did I have one. Duh--the answer was no. So Angela said, "Well, let's start you one." And here we are up in my bedroom for the night starting the blog.

If I can figure out had to add pictures, I will be able to show you some of the card ideas that we're doing, some of the places where I'll be, and we can also share your ideas and your cards with other viewers--that is, if anybody ever looks at this other than me.

The card that is posted here was done by Angela (in a class taught by Laura - card designer) with Copic markers and Spica glitter pens. (I know you'll find this hard to believe, but they actually used a "thank you" that was not Stacy Stamps, so we covered it up with my business card. HaHaHa.) When I get back from Angela's, I'll tell you all about the demos and post some of the cards that we did.
